Today
Today is where time and space come together as a world. If there is anything at all, there is got to first of all be today.
The Center Point
The center of the universe is the focal point of the eye, in particular when its image reaches the retina via the lens. It is not posible to identify relevant boundaries to the universe. Traditionally, we imagine that the Milky Way is somewhere deep in the heart of the universe with the billions of other swirling Galaxies. And here we are only talking about the spatial center.
In a relativistic universe one must also determine a temporal 'center'. The focal point of the eye records both spatial and temporal "data". However, it is not possible to obtain a non-relativistic parameter. There is simply no way of knowing what the "outside" of the universe is related to. If the universe were to expand unlimitedly in every direction, then the centerpoint would be everywhere and always. Another way of saying this is to observe that each and every point in the universe is both spatial and temporal center. And of this is the case, then a particularly interesting conclusion is that the 'focal point' of the eye also represents such a center.
The question of whether this center where the vision of the world is "coming to pass" is the ego or not is irrelevant. For 'ego' is just a name. The fact of vision reaching this point is a 'happening' if you will. There are probably several ways to understand this.
Taking this centerpoint and stretching it as far in terms of time and space, i.e. backwards and forwards, the only other thing left to relate to is "all of that which is not in this universe (evenmore: in existence)." Is it The Abyss, nothingness?? Impossible to know, by definition.
